Quick Tips on Using Keywords – Be seen on Page One of Google

By Jonathan Camp

quick tips using keywords to rank well in google and bingLet’s start by defining what Keywords are… keywords are those words and expressions that people use within the search engines to find stuff. They are usually looking for either Products or Problems (how to, where do I, what is the, etc.). Taking a step back it’s important to realise what all the major search engines do! Search engines have software programs that reach out into the web space and try to find everything that they think will be interesting to the public when they search – not only interesting – BUT also RELEVANT.

Keywords, as I mentioned, as those words and phrases that people type into the search box to find things – usually products and problems. Now, if your site has those keywords within the site; hopefully within the URL, title tag, first H1 tag, content, etc. (See my article on how to optimise your website for the search engines) then you stand a good chance of being discovered by the search engines and displayed on a search engine results page. Now, which page you’re displayed on is another matter! Consider that there are literally billions of web pages all trying to get to the first page of Google and Bing so that they can be found. A lot of them will be making sure that their keywords are optimised for their content – and as importantly – what people are looking for, so you have to make sure that your website is more optimised for those relevant keywords.

Keyword Optimisation is only one aspect of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO). There are about another 20 key factors that affect how your page is ranked within the major search engines, some of these are outlined within the articles on this blog. You must make sure that your keywords are relevant to your content and that your content is unique, these two aspects always score well with the search engines. If you are the originator of content you will always be copied, but you have the originality – and Google likes this.

Solid SEO Advice That Ranks You Higher In Search Engine Results

By Jonathan Camp

Search Engine OptimisationSearch engine optimization is something any company that desires to have a successful web presence needs to do right. Whether your website is selling yourself, your company or a product, you need it to work. This article has some great tips on how to make search engine optimization work for you.

If you are looking to climb up the search engine ranks then provide a plethora of content going across many different topics. For example offer articles on baseball and football, and then some articles on personal health and wealth. By providing a plurality of content you make it more likely a user will find your site at the top of the charts.

When looking to ramp up your online profile, don’t forget that image names count in search results – quite heavily, in fact. Be sure to give your images names that searchers will easily find. If you’re writing about a particular product, be sure to include keywords for that product in the image name itself, so that the image will pop up in a Google image search result.

If you must use Flash on your website, boost your search engine rankings by providing an alternative HTML-only option. Not only will the search engine spiders have an easier time crawling and ranking your page, but your human site visitors will appreciate it, as well. The easier your site is to use, the more links people will make to it, which also boosts your search engine ranking.

TIP! Utilize the AdWords tool kit from Google, to increase the effectiveness of your keyword selections for SEO. By using these tools, you can increase traffic to your site and increase traffic that translates into sales.

Although novice search engine optimizers believe that HTML must be complex and thorough, it’s actually the exact opposite. You should keep your layout as simple as possible. The easier it is for a search engine to index your pages, the higher you will rise in the rankings. Remember, the goal is to optimize your site, not to create a jumbled mess of code.

In important tip regarding internet marketing is to do all that you can to avoid anyone not having trust in your site. This is important because you do not want to lose potential customers due to having a suspicious looking website. Your design and overall layout are extremely important in showing your legitimacy.

If you feel you are not ready to do your own SEO, then it would be best for you to hire a company that can do it for you. Make sure to do the proper research so that you know who you are dealing with. Do not hesitate to ask any questions about the methods they use and what type of results you should expect.

Try to frequently include different types of offers or sales on your website. Not only will sales optimize your search criteria, but it will keep visitors on your site longer, as most people are psychologically drawn to a deal. This can improve your overall profit and success during the course of the year.

Post from Google support for integrating Google Calendar with Microsoft Outlook 2010

There has been a lot of interest in when a version of Google Calendar Sync would be released that supports Outlook 2010. As some of you have already noticed @salocorgan :) , we’re happy (Google that is…) to announce that support for Outlook 2010 is now available! This latest release (version 0.9.3.6) supports the 32-bit version of Outlook 2010 only. 64-bit turned out to be harder so we don’t have it ready yet, but we didn’t want to hold back the 32-bit-supporting version in the meantime.

We just posted the official announcement to the Gmail blog today:
If you have any issues, please post them to the Sync section of the forum:
Happy syncing!
